THE ICC

The RYA is the UK issuing authority for the ICC. Many countries require skippers to hold a Certificate of Competence. This qualification is available to British citizens or British residents, who must be at least 16 years old.

Inland Waterways ICC

If you wish to take a boat through the European Inland Waterways Network e.g. rivers, lakes and canals you must hold the appropriate ICC. We provide a one-day Inland Waterways Helmsman Certificate course and CEVNI, up the River Avon to Keynsham and return, negotiating four locks.  Candidates should be familiar with the RYA book: RYA European waterways regulations (the CEVNI rules explained).

£95

Coastal ICC

On completion of a Powerboat (tidal) Level 2 course and assessment, you may obtain an International Certificate of Competence for European tidal waters. Candidates should also possess a theoretical knowledge of tidal waters and nautical charts.
